Cyclo-Converter based speed control of three-phase induction motor drive

FPGA based PWM Controller

 This PWM controller is designed based on SPARTAN-6 FPGA controller chip and  this controller can be used  to generate  PWM Signals for SCR, IGBT based power electronics application like DC-AC Inverter ,DC-DC Chopper & SCR  converter based AC/DC/BLDC Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) control application. PWM output of this controller can be interfaced with Power Module through External cable connection.

PWM Outputs & Digital I/O’S

  • 6 numbers of PWM output @ 5V logic level ( 3.3v to 5V level converter is provided)
  • 21 numbers of digital I/O’s @ 3.3V logic level is terminated at separate connector
  • 18 numbers of digital I/O’s @ 3.3V logic level is terminated at separate connector
  • 3 numbers of Digital input @ 5V logic level is provided for speed sensor interface / Motor feedback (hall sensor) interface

SCR Power Module-3 Phase Mid Point Type

  • 12 number of SCRs (1200V @ 25Amp) With necessary Heat sink & Snubber circuit is provided to Form 3 phase Mid-Point Type Cyclo-converter power Circuit.
  • Pulse transformer & Transistor based Pulse amplifier is provided in all Four SCR’s
  • IC based ZCD Circuit is provided for Synchronized SCR Pulse generation
  • Input 230V + 10%, 50Hz single phase AC & + 15V DC @ 0.5A regulated output for the trigger circuits.
  • Output : 3Ø, 415V, 5A, 1 KW
